Walt’s Across Texas 2010

Last year’s trip was so enjoyable; we decided to do it again in 2010!  We’re taking the best elements from before and adding a few new wrinkles to make this year’s trip even better!

We’ll depart from the beautiful Texas Hill country on Thursday morning, September 23rd and head west, stopping for a BBQ lunch in Junction.  We’ll arrive at the historic Gage Hotel later that afternoon & relax before reconvening for dinner and an intimate performance by some of the greatest singer/songwriters from across the country.

Walt will be joined Thursday evening by Michael Hearne (Taos, NM), Lori McKenna (Stoughton, MA), & Jimmy Davis (Memphis, TN) for an evening under the Marathon Texas canopy of stars.

On Friday, our journey continues down to Big Bend at the Lajitas Resort where we’ll dine in one of the exquisite & scenic cafés before taking advantage of all the amenities the hotel and landscape has to offer: A day trip to Big Bend National Park, river rafting, spa treatments, golf, swimming or just relaxation.

On Friday night, fans will be treated to a full course meal & a special acoustic concert by the Mystiqueros featuring our guest songwriters.

After a hearty brunch on Saturday morning, we’ll head up to Alpine for the last stop of our tour.  Our destination will be the recently renovated Holland Hotel.  Guests will be able to enjoy the town and even a special Happy Hour concert at the charming hotel bar before dinner at last year’s favorite spot, Reata Restaurant.

Following another gourmet meal, you’ll be able to work off dinner by dancing the night away at the famous Railroad Blues nightclub to the electric soulful sounds of the Mystiqueros while enjoying a huge selection of beers 9and homemade sangria!) from around the world.

On Sunday morning, we’ll enjoy a nice breakfast (and a couple of aspirin) before heading back home.
